IWTC and Women, INK.

The International Women's Tribune Centre (IWTC) is an women's international, non-governmental organization (NGO), that supports the initiatives of women working to promote the more equitable and active participation of women in the development plans and policies of their countries. IWTC is an information clearinghouse, innovator in communication strategies, a training and capacity-building organisation and a catalyst for the creation of new networks and coalitions.

Underlying IWTC's work is the belief that access to relevant and usable information is essential to participatory and sustainable development and is at the heart of the growing global women's movement.

The Tribune: IWTC's women and development newsletter, with each 48-page issue focusing on a specific subject concerning women and development. Highly-visual and using a simple language format, The Tribune provides practical, action-oriented information, presents innovative women's projects, and lists names and addresses of resources and organizations working in the field. 48 pages. IWTC Women's GlobalNet: A bi-weekly one-page e-mail bulletin that reaches tens of thousands with information on activities and initiatives of women worldwide. Send your e-mail address to us if you are interested in receiving this! English and Spanish

Moving Policy, Taking Action: A Community Advocacy Guide on the Beijing Platform for Action: This 120-page IWTC advocacy guide includes sections on the 12 critical areas of concern with an emphasis on: the strategic objectives and actions to be taken; ways to use media for advocacy; indicators; and different approaches to measuring progress. An excellent section on resources provides a guide for further research. Planned for completion February 2000, Moving Policy, Taking Action will be available through Women, Ink.
